Joie de vivre...

which translates- a healthy enjoyment of life; high spirits. Paris was absolutely amazing! It was nice to be back in a big bad city again with tons of cafes & cars whipping by. Everything seems like a blur now that I’m back in London. I would’ve loved to stay longer to check out other museums, but I did see the Mona Lisa which I have had an obsession with since I was a kid. However, the best moments were just sitting around outside in the Gardens of the Louvre & local cafes with friends talking. It’s nice to sit back, reflect & realize how lucky you are. Not many people are able to have an experience like mine.  Thank you so much Mom and Dad! I promise one day I’ll pay you back

September 18th...

I have a feeling is going to be the highlight of my whole trip. It was a spontaneous afternoon all to myself. I woke up early en route to find Dress Circle down in the West End. It’s this tiny store that’s a theater goers paradise- hooray! The whole point of finding this tiny store was to buy a Kerry Ellis CD and jump in line to for a meet & greet. Kerry Ellis is absolutely fantastic and I saw her about 2 years ago when she was Elphaba in Wicked.  Just check her CD Anthems and you’ll get what I’m saying.  While I was waiting outside the air around me smelt like bacon.  It was the biggest tease ever! I decided that I was going to find a meal around the area that didn’t consist of peanut butter or jelly.  Literally, right down the block I found the perfect Italian place… oh yeah, along the way I also decided to buy a ticket to the matinee of Deathtrap. I adore Jonathan Groff after his debut in Spring Awakening a few years ago. Cafe Uno provided me with a delicious meal: White wine, carbonara, chocolate torte and cappuccino. It’s so nice to be able to sit and write for a little while before the show. In New York the staff would’ve rushed you out, however, it’s almost impossible to get the staffs attention for the bill. I still had about an hour to kill so I went shopping. The H&M here is unbelievable… now if only the currency agreed with my bank account. The atmosphere of the theater before the show was so different than home. It’s ungodly quiet. At intermission I was talking to this older couple and they recommended some shows to see. Deathtrap was hilariously scary. I had no idea what the show was about but sometimes it’s better to do so. After the show I went around back and met Jonathan Groff.  He was so nice and we talked about NYC since it’s both home for us.

It’s a simple, enjoyable day like this that makes me remember that I’m the only person in this world that can make myself happy.  When you want something go for it.  Don’t question or wait around for someone else otherwise you miss out on what you really want in the end.

I am...

having the worst writers block ever. I want to write all these philosophical, mystical, and insightful things but all I do is stare at the screen for twenty minutes. I am even having writers block about writing about writers block- by the way that was a fantastic sentence right there! Ugh, maybe I really do need to get some sleep….

Today...

officially marks one entire week in London! It’s incredible to think that only a week ago I was home getting ready to leave New York and say goodbye to everything that was familiar to me. It feels like I’ve been here for weeks already. So far it has been an easy adjustment because London is much like New York minus a few things like driving on the opposite side of the road and the Tube is much tighter than the subway.  The tube literally feels like you’re in a test tube… maybe that’s where the name came from? only joking. Anyways, classes started yesterday & I have no complaints, yet. My theater professor said I have a very nice voice and that I should do his acting class which I’m thinking about.  His only critique was that I speak really, really quickly- surprise!  I’ve been told a few things while in London so far: I speak really fast, I’m a lot wiser than most and I take charge of situations. That’s a pretty accurate assessment.

Hopefully, I’ll remember that I have a blog and update as much as possible.  My apologizes in advance for my crappy grammar + I am also a very comma happy girl.

This week will be filled with more adventures, laughter, unknown and happiness.

Cheers! xoxo
